It has begun again. It’s the beginning of summer, I bought a large motorcycle sized van perfect for surf adventures and the story has been set in motion. Is there anything better than this in life?

It’s the end of October already. November is just over this ridge and then we’re into month 12. I’m currently trying to plan my holiday time around new years and all I can think of is the scene above. My good friend Jason and I skate to the local supermarket to stock up on food for the week. We were both living at Scott’s flat at the time and surfing the local beaches up to the time Scott and I departed for our adventure far up the coast.
These photos do two things to me. They first make me feel omnipresent as I watch a scenario which Jason probably plays out every week now that he lives in Sydney. The second, incredible fondness of something so fun and simple, but something which much like my portraits of Nick McDonald hooning around on minibikes, represents myself right now at this age when time feels like it is only getting faster and these moments are becoming shorter. This is me right now trying to break away from that and relive these moments that my sive like memory has such a hard time retaining. It’s a good thing I’m a photographer isn’t it.
I’m looking forward to this again brothers!

Here’s a drawing I completed on Wednesday at our drawing night. Whilst I’m not the biggest Clooney fan out there, I found the image randomly online when looking for interesting reference and had to give it a shot. I’m fairly happy with it but there is a lot I would change if I did this drawing again. It’s all practice though and you have to fall a few times (a tonne) before you can become good at anything worthwhile.
